Go to a party and tell people you "can't do math" and you'll probably get a few "I can't do math, either!" and maybe even a few high-fives. It's like some sort of sick club. Go to that same party and exclaim, :I can't read" and you certainly won't get any high-fives.

I created a tool for kids to help them with the most confusing concept- negative numbers- that they face. Even my 11th grade students stumble on negative numbers more often than not. When you stumble, you're not having fun, and when you're not having fun, you're likely to go find something else to do. I want kids to feel successful.

I hope you check out my blog, and my tool, at http://zerosumruler.wordpress.com . I'd love your feedback.

It would do well to make the learning process interesting through different modes of teaching. Kids can then use the "new" part of brain and as the information is stored in the "knowledge" part, kids start to learn math or for that matter any subject of learning.

Yes, Sudoku is basically a logic game, a number-placement puzzle. It helps children improve their logical thinking and problem solving skills - very useful for math.

Also, the puzzle can be investigated using mathematics, in particular combinatorics and permutation group theory: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mathematics_of_Sudoku

But the most important is, as I said before, that this kind of games and puzzles improve mental performance and problem solving capabilities.
